Hi, and welcome to Sew Blue Thread.
…and a Happy Financial Year to you if you live in Australia. I can’t believe I am even saying this, however, it was a greeting that someone gave the other day, and what an unusual one, I have to say. Yet, in Australia, at this time, it’s the dawn of a new financial journey. The old (last financial years’) journey has finished (not mentioning the paperwork), and a new, fresh year is upon us. Maybe it’s just a personal perception.
Ok, so going on with a new quilt pattern, this would have to be a ‘Big Deal’ for me as it’s a BIG quilt.
I like these big quilt patterns because the finished quilt can be used for more than just tables. Big quilts also means more measuring, more stitching, more pattern matching, more fabric playing. Anyhoo, as usual, I enjoyed each part of the process.
So, introducing, ‘Flower Box‘.
I was excited to find out that Flower Box quilt uses exactly 1 layer cake. Flower Box measures 48″ x 48″, and the pattern gives clear directions, both step by step, and visual instructions to finish ‘Flower Box’ quilt top.
Flower Box shows off ‘Grandale’ fabric by Keera Jobs for Riley Blake Designs. I bought this beautiful fabric as a Layer Cake range from Sarah Kent at ‘Graceful Stitchers‘. Sarah sources delicious quilting fabrics as well as batiks, 1930s reproductions, and stunning florals.
In all this excitement, I would also like to take this opportunity to announce a ‘Flower Box’ pattern giveaway.
For the month of August 2019, any pattern/s purchased from my shop will receive one FREE ‘Flower Box’ pattern. The pattern is a pdf downloadable file, including all instructions to make a 48″x 48″ quilt top. Flower Box is beginner-friendly and has easy to follow step by step instructions. Flower Box quilt pattern will be arriving in the shop this September.
So until next time,
Happy sewing.
Marsha Nicoll.
