Hi, and welcome to Sew Blue Thread!
We are well and truly into Spring, and in looking out the window, the beautiful purple flowers of the Jacaranda tree are starting to show. Before the hot days begin, it’s nice to complete some overdue quilts.
Started, and finally finished, is this Around the Corner quilt, using the ‘Around the Corner’ quilt block throughout. A bunch of green stash fabrics were used, as my son loves the colour green. It came together very quickly, and the many straight sewing lines, made it an easy pattern to complete.
The ‘Around the Corner‘ quilt block pattern is free on the blog. You just need to click on the projects link on the homepage or download the following pdf downloadable file.
To extend this quilt block pattern into a quilt, I used 2.5″ lengths of sashing around each block, and 3″ wide of green sashing around the total of blocks. There are 12 blocks altogether.
The binding has a 2.5″ width. The finished quilt measures 58″x 44″. Why not give it a try.
So until next time.
Happy sewing.
Marsha.
