Hello everybody,
The idea of making a girls dress, plus, a matching dolls dress, has been one of my ‘let’s give it a whirl’ ideas for a long time. Since having a daughter, now would be the time.
Well, haven’t I had fun with this little project. Found a pattern from Olive Ann Designs, called GEO, and off I went.
So here’s the finished dress or 2.
Have made a slight variation on the front panels whereby the shoulder panel is on the left shoulder. Fabric used were scraps from my scrap box.
Ok, so my daughters 18″ dolls dress fits her perfectly. I used the length from my daughters other dresses to measure against this dress. I mainly sewed it in the evenings after dinner when my daughter was in bed, so couldn’t use her exact measurements without her knowing about it.
Am pretty pleased with the finished dress. Very easy instructions if you’ve sewn clothes before. So I would definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a fun little project.
So until next time,
happy sewing
Marsha.
