Market Square Quilt

Hi, and welcome to Sew Blue Thread.  Today, I’d like to share with you a new quilt, and to my amazement, is Pattern No. 23.  This one is called ‘Market Square’ quilt, and was inspired by the many markets I love visiting.

This quilt took a little longer to make than usual (or it felt that way).  With the Winter we just had, I also managed to receive a free flu that seemed to take forever to go away.  Added to that, the kids had their own versions of the flu with high temps, tonsilitus.  It has been a very long Winter this year. Glad it’s all behind us.

So I started to get my fabric cut out, and found the rotary cutter had all jagged edges on it.  Started to sew the quilt, and the machine then decided to be (not) funny with the foot not going down properly.  All these ‘forks in the road’.  I was determined to get the quilt finished.

So here it is.  Market Square quilt.  Great for a throw blanket, or baby blanket.

Market Square

The Market Square Quilt seen here is measured at 28″ x 39″, including the binding.  The fabric received a cold wash before cutting, to see if the blues would run into the whites, however, no,  it didn’t happen.

Fabric used on this Market Square Quilt is Spotlight Store fabric.  It came in 2, fat quarter bundles of beautifully arranged colours.  For more info –>click here<–

So until next time.
Have fun sewing.

Marsha.
