Hi, and welcome. Just imagine, fresh cool breeze on a hot Summer day, lazing by the coconut palm.
Continuing on with a Sea theme, here is the next block to try. Say hello to ‘Coconut Bay’.
Have used multiple stash fabrics to make this block, and to try out the pattern for accuracy. I went with the light brown trunk, and dark brown coconuts. The greens were chosen and placed randomly. The pattern was written so that it has 5 small panels included in the 1 block pattern. When all the panels were sewn together, it made this quilt block.
Had this beautiful ‘Olives Flower Market’ fabric by Lella Boutique for Moda fabrics.
When I first saw it, I knew I could design a pattern to suit the colours of the fabric range. It was the beautiful browns and greens that I liked first. So that’s how I came to choose this fabric with this pattern. It has a colour range including light and dark(very dark) browns. Perfect for ‘Coconut Bay’.
Here is a bed runner/table runner using this pattern. Perhaps it can be used for the holiday house by the beach perhaps. Coconut Bay is a 12 1/2″ block.
