Today I want to show a duffel bag project I’ve had as a ‘work in progress’. It’s one of those projects, that I said I would get to, eventually. Well, after a digging around in the fabric box, found thick black cotton fabric (almost like a canvas, but not that thick), to make the bag. Also found was a t-towel for just this kind of project. It was too lovely to use and reuse in the kitchen. So it went to the bag.
It’s a beautiful damask t-towel, with friesian cows woven into the fabric. The t-towel was not quite large enough to line the duffel bag, so had to rework it so it looked evenly placed in the centre.
Before laying down the lining, the t-towel was snipped down the centre and the right and left sides were swapped over. This was so that the cow could be seen on the finished bag, when it was unzipped.
The finished bag handles have been sewn onto the bag right around from top to bottom, so that there is a bit more strength for those heavy duffel bag items. Love, love making these bags, as they are so easy and practical.

Thanks for stopping by to see the Duffel Bag.
So until next time,
Have fun sewing!
